What to say about this film? Well, don’t spend any money on it. It is a waste of time, money and is such a terrible film.
Imagine ‘The Hangover’, but with British people and about ten times more vulgar. Written by and starring Doctor Who alumni Noel Clarke. The film follows “a couple who endure a series of mishaps right before their wedding day”
The film, directed by Jesse Lawrence (‘Book of the Dead’) and starring Talulah Riley (‘Pride and Prejudice’) and Matthew McNulty (‘Room At the Top’).
It is as if Clarke is trying to hard to say absolutely nothing.He is imitating, rather badly, films such as ‘The Hangover’ and ‘Bridesmaids’, but the difference is, they do it so much better.
There are many cringe moments, including a disgusting diarrhea scene performed by Riley. What is more, none of the characters seem real or believable.
This is a film which plays on stereotypes, the token lesbian in denial, the wife beater and the couple who are unsure if they love each other.
I am not alone in my disappointment; Peter Bradshaw from the Guardian said; “Crass, unfunny, charmless and speckled with moments of awfulness, this is relentlessly bad”, whereas Phillip French from the Observer said; ” The Knot is an offensive anthology of every loud, lewd and loathsome wedding joke staged or screened between ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ and ‘The Hangover’.”
Please do not see this film.
